This site is dedicated to the memory of Anita Ferruzzi.

I saw this fleeting beautiful image outside my window this morning. It lasted only a few seconds. As the wind blew the sparse leaves on my old ash tree - some of its leaves already brown and yellow - the sun appeared from low on the horizon and illuminated them with a warm golden light. For a few seconds what was a familiar view became something that caught my heart and eye and took me out of the ordinary into a feeling of warmth and joy. It was as if the wind were ushering golden dust across the sky from one unknown place to another. And I witnessed it! - though only briefly. It touched me for so short a time but left me with a glow even as I longed for it to happen again. But it will not. The sun will move on and the clouds may or may not part again and the wind will move the leaves of the tree differently. The tree remains as it was yet the effect was only for a shimmering moment. But I will always know that I was in the right place to experience that moment. And the tree too will always hold in its shuddering branches the warming memory of that golden light that touched it ever so quickly before passing on to another place.
